Arctic tundra
This project was in the Arctic tundra. We were replacing a damaged sump pump at the bottom of a pit, installing highwall wire mesh to prevent rock fall damage, driving an in-pit portal with wire mesh screening, and development mining in a 18% incline ramp. It required a lot of attention to detail and as always a high focus on safety standards. The project also included a 300m (1,000ft) deep raise bored ventilation shaft that was also used to supply custom high voltage 5,000V power cables connecting infrastructure underground.
